Abstract

Objective: To identify the sexual risk behavior in patients over 18 years of age with HIV infection who receive antiretroviral treatment at the Hipólito Unanue Hospital in Tacna- 2018.

Material and method: The present correlational, observational, retrospective cross-sectional study of descriptive level It was performed with patients from the Regional Hospital “Hipólito Unanue”, which is located in the Region, Province and District of Tacna. 348 patients diagnosed with HIV-AIDS receiving HAART from the Hospital's HIV / AIDS strategy Sample: 112 patients

Results: 40% were between 20 and 29 years old. 76.5% were male, 59.1% were single. 63.5% report having no offspring. 87% started sexual intercourse between 10 and 20 years. Of the group with sporadic relationships, 70.6% are gay. 84.35% currently refer to a monogamous relationship but 32.7% prefer love affairs in short times and 20.87% only one night relationships. In the last twelve months. 17.4% believe that receiving TARGA treatment frees them from the possibility of contagion.

Conclusion: There is a high need for promotional and prevention activities about sexual behavior in patients diagnosed with HIV.
