Abstract

Objective: to determine the frequency of third molars in the Pell-Gregory classification and the

winter classification. Material and methods: 242 digital panoramic radiographs were examined and recorded in a data collection form according to the criteria of the Pell-Gregory and Winter classifications; according to the hemiarcade and gender. Results: according to the Pell-Gregory classification of the 484 lower third molars analyzed, class II was achieved with more frequency with 71.3%; and a type B depth with 51%; the Winter classification of the 484 lower third molars analyzed was reached with the highest frequency at the mesioangular position with 47.3%; as soon as the hemiarcade, like the hemiarcade, met with the mayor, class II, depth type B and the mesioangular position; and as soon as the male gender as the female gender encountered the mayor frequency class II, depth type B and the mesioangular position. Conclusions: according to the Pell-Gregory classification, class II and a type B depth were found more frequently for both hemiarchies and genera together. Regarding the Winter classification, it was found more frequently in the mesioangular position for both hemiarchies and genera. together .
