Author Guidelines (Information and Rights)
INFORMATION FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSION
Veritas et Scientia is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, published by the Graduate School of the Universidad Privada de Tacna. It publishes original research on a semiannual basis in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as interdisciplinary studies that contribute to the understanding of social, cultural, and economic phenomena at regional, national, and international levels.
The journal also considers contributions from other areas of knowledge, such as Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medical and Health Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences, as long as their approaches are linked to social issues or their impact on human development.
Veritas et Scientia publishes exclusively in Spanish and accepts contributions from both national and international researchers.
PUBLICATION PERIODICITY
Veritas et Scientia publishes two issues per year, with a semiannual schedule (January-June and July-December), with estimated publication dates of June 30 and December 31.
Articles are accepted throughout the year for evaluation and subsequent publication, and must be submitted through the journal's website or to the journal’s email address veritas.et.scientia@upt.pe.
JOURNAL CONTENT
The journal publishes original research reports, bibliographic reviews, or reports on topics of interest at the regional, national, and international levels. Occasionally, brief communications are published to introduce novel or promising techniques or methodologies, or preliminary results of singular interest.
ARTICLE SUBMISSION
The article must be submitted with a letter addressed to the editor of the journal, requesting evaluation for publication. The letter must be signed by one of the authors. The submission should include the title of the work, the full names of the authors, email addresses, type of work, and a sworn statement signed by the authors.
Accepted articles must be original and unpublished, and must not have been partially or fully published elsewhere, nor submitted for publication in another journal, whether in print or electronic format. Authors are responsible for the material submitted.
ARTICLE PRESENTATION
The manuscript should be submitted according to the APA 7th edition guidelines, in a Word file. The total length should not exceed 12 pages or 8000 words, including the bibliography. The manuscript must include:

Article identification: title (in English and Spanish), full name of the authors, full name of the institution(s) of the authors (affiliation), ORCID number of the researcher (https://orcid.org), email address for each author, and the mailing address of the corresponding author. The title should not exceed 20 words and should reflect the actual content of the article.

Authorship contribution: information about each author's contributions according to the CREDIT taxonomy.

Abstract of no more than 200 words (in English and Spanish), with 3-5 keywords (in English and Spanish).

Body of the article: The text of the article should include the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. All pages must be numbered, starting from the title page. For numerical data and measurements, the International System of Units (SI) should be used. The following order should be followed:

REFERENCES
Immediately after citing, paraphrasing, or using any material that is not original, it is necessary to refer to the source in the bibliography.
APA 7th edition will be used for in-text citations and references.
Only the references cited in the body of the article will be presented.
The International System (SI) units, based on the metric decimal system, will be used.
ILLUSTRATIONS
Figures (maps, diagrams, charts, drawings, photos, etc.) will be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals, and likewise, tables. The captions for figures and tables must appear below the text and be sufficiently explanatory.
SELECTION PROCESS
Articles that meet the formal requirements will be sent for peer review by external experts according to international quality standards. The editorial team of the journal will determine if the manuscript meets the general criteria outlined above. The journal reserves the right to make format changes to the original text. The accepted article will be edited, and a proof will be sent to the author for acceptance and consent to publication.

The journal subscribes to the BOAI 2002 Declaration and its future updates.
COPYRIGHT POLICY
The copyright of the articles published in Veritas et Scientia belongs to the respective authors. Each article is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, which allows its use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original authors are properly credited.
The copyright holder of each article is the corresponding author, who retains all rights to their work. The journal only receives authorization for the publication of the article on its digital platform. This information is clearly stated on the website of each published article, specifying the type of license and the terms of use.
DIGITAL PRESERVATION
Veritas et Scientia has digital preservation policies in place, with LOCKSS OJS activation. Backup copies of all the journal's digital files are regularly created.
